Andrew Ortolano is a reluctant modern-day Renaissance man - a rare breed who is equal parts technician and visual designer. He'll often bake a cake, decorate it, and then eat it too.

A person who often defies category, Andrew has at one time or another, filled the roll of Lead Programmer, Sr. Technical Editor, Information Architect, and Graphic Designer.

He has worked on numerous high-profile Web sites including the launch site for Anheuser-Busch/Michelob, Janus Funds on line, and Business Solutions International. As a designer, he has created engaging and informative multimedia productions for trade shows and on-line brand launches complete with motion and sound. Recently, Andrew has been designing and programming microsites, banner ads, and interstitials for Citibank, Chase Manhattan/J.P. Morgan, Suntrust Banks, Inc. and Nationwide insurance.

On the programming side, he is adept at everything from Flash ActionScript to PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

To further stack the deck, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern (in fact, he is a disciple of the drummer Paul Wertico), and plays with two headlining Chicago bands.

He is also, hands down, the coolest member of the HTML Writers Guild.
